A stay at Mt Cook Lakeside Retreat is an escape to pure paradise.
Our High Country Estate and Luxury Villa Collection is situated on 66 hectares, nestled between the turquoise blue waters of Lake Pukaki and the majestic Ben Ohau ranges. It is on the doorstep of Aoraki Mount Cook National Park and the Te Wāhipounamu World Heritage Area, a place of unsurpassed beauty and natural wonders.
We are within 2-3 hours’ scenic drive of Wanaka or Queenstown and just 40 minutes from Takapō/Lake Tekapo. Our four on-site helipads offer direct helicopter access to your villa.
From our Lakeside Villas, enjoy uninterrupted views up Lake Pukaki to the Southern Alps and Aoraki Mount Cook, New Zealand’s highest and most revered mountain. Ashley Mackenzie Villa also includes private access to the Fantail Spa, including outdoor hot tub, sauna, massage room and exercise facilities. Villa Puaka includes its own private outdoor spa pool.
Our Moraine Villas overlook the tawny golden landscape of the legendary Mackenzie Basin and the Ben Ohau mountain ranges. These two villas, Villa Matariki and Villa Tautoru, include their own private outdoor spa pools.
All villas offer peaceful privacy and are finished to the highest standard of warm, comfortable luxury. Each villa comprises two bedrooms, with king or twin bed configurations, and can accommodate a maximum of four guests.
